Garmisch-Partenkirchen is located in a valley basin and is reachable from three directions (North, South, West). Those arriving by car from the North would do best to take the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The last 10 kilometres before GAP are completed on the B2. Therefore a car ride from Munich to GAP takes only 50 minutes.


Motorists who want to come to GAP from the Austrian Inn Valley should make their way over the Zirlerberg near Innsbruck. The route continues past Seefeld, Scharnitz and Mittenwald. The 60 kilometres from Innsbruck to Garmisch-Partenkirchen can be completed in a good 45 minutes.
